The prophet Haggai gave a series of messages to his beloved, yet spoiled people beginning in 520 B.C. His message – to focus on God and not wealth. You see, the nation of Israel had become rich, and were living in the lap of luxury, yet they were too busy to finish working on the temple which needed repair. The people had lost focus on the Lord’s work and were distracted by their wealth and personal activities.
