Have You Learned From Your Mistakes?

1 Corinthians 10:11,
“Now ALL these things happened to them as examples [for us],
and they were written for our admonition [warning].”

How well have you learned from the mistakes of your past? Paul reviewed the failures of the Israelites who “all” had great privileges. (Count the five “alls” in 1 Corinthians 10:1-4!) Take a few minutes right now and write out your past major mistakes. Then take a few minutes and answer these questions: What have I learned from my past mistakes? What have I done to ensure that I won’t repeat them?

Here’s your warning just in case you don’t think you need to do this.

1 Corinthians 10:12,
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”

The Israelites were to take an eleven day trip when they were delivered out of Egypt to the promised land; it took 40 years and they still didn’t enter because of their unbelief. The statement goes: Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it. Don’t let this be you.

Today I leave you to ponder 1 Cor. 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but GOD IS FAITHFUL, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
